UMW begin new ministry for children removed in emergency situations
The United Methodist Women embark on a new mission opportunity for children in our community. Many children, removed in a emergency situation from their families are placed in foster care, often with only the clothes on their backs and little else. To help with the transition from family to foster care, we hope to provide essential items to children right here in Greenup County, that will make them feel more comfortable and at home in their new placement. The women are collecting the following items: Diapers (any size), wipes, Clothes-new or gently used (any size), pajamas, underwear-new (any size), socks-new (size), socks-new (any size), toothpaste, toothbrushes, crayons, coloring books, liquid soap, sippy cups, pacifiers, juice boxes, and individual snacks. Please place your items in a designated box in the lobby. Please contact Barb Nicholls at 606-571-1215 if you have any questions.
